Counseling & Therapy

On the Margins offers trauma-informed and culturally responsive therapy services in-person and on-line. Services are provided in English and Spanish by bilingual and multicultural practitioners. The cost of each session is set by an income-based sliding scale. We accept Medicare insurance. Services offered: Individual therapy for children, adolescents and adults, couples therapy, family therapy, and group therapy. Please note, On the Margins does not offer emergency services.  If you are experiencing a psychiatric emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department.

GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE

Under the law, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining the expected costs of your medical and mental health care services.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

  • A Good Faith Estimate outlines the total expected cost of non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy or counseling services.

  • This applies to patients who:

    • Do not have insurance

    • Are not using insurance for their care.

YOUR RIGHTS UNDER THE LAW

  1. Request a Good Faith Estimate

    You can ask for a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling a service or at any time.

    Providers are required to provide you with this estimate in writing.

  2. Dispute a Bill

NOTICE TO CLIENTS The Board of Behavioral Sciences receives and responds to complaints regarding services provided within the scope of practice of (marriage and family therapists, licensed educational psychologists, clinical social workers, or professional clinical counselors).
