  • On the Margins Family Therapy & Psychological Services, Inc. was founded in 2019 by Dr. Daniela Dominguez (Danny), a Queer Latina from Mexico with a deep commitment to liberation psychology, abolition, and antiracism. As a healthcare practitioner, Danny witnessed firsthand how oppressive practices, policies, and structures within healthcare systems failed to protect Queer, Trans, and BIPOC communities.

Driven by freedom fighters and ideological ancestors, she founded the org to create a space where individuals could heal through ancestral knowledge, cultural strategies, and radical imagination.

The organization now boasts a strong leadership team and robust multidisciplinary staff dedicated to providing a safe and empowering space for individuals to heal, grow, and imagine new possibilities.

In 2023, On the Margins, Inc., a philanthropic non-profit entity (501C3), was established to deepen our social impact on the margins of society. On the Margins, Inc. and On the Margins Family Therapy & Psychological Services, Inc. leverage the strengths of both professionals corporations and non-profit sectors, creating a sustainable and synergistic approach to fulfilling their shared mission.

A dedicated board of directors with diverse expertise was carefully selected to oversee On the Margins, Inc., ensuring financial sustainability and effective governance. Through this powerful collaboration, On the Margins, Inc. and On the Margins Family Therapy & Psychological Services, Inc. continue to work tirelessly towards a more just and equitable society, where all communities can flourish and belong.

  • We exist at the intersection of abolition feminism, trauma-responsiveness, and antiracism. We believe that "Nobody's free until everybody's free." Our commitment is inspired by Fannie Lou Hamer’s freedom teachings. Our work seeks to amplify community care, cultural wealth, and resilience in bold and politicized ways. Understanding that marginalized communities are under assault, we are trying to disrupt systems of oppression in academic, clinical, health systems, and political spaces.

  • Engaged in solidarity with communities on the margins of society, we address social disparities with love, commitment, and respect. We dedicate our work and efforts to those who have lost their lives freedom fighting. May you rest in power and may our work, efforts, and practices honor your memory.

  • We work with those looking to pay attention to and change, through bold and sustainable action, the structures and systems of power that contribute to the traumatic experiences and dehumanization of communities on the margins of society. OTM has partnered with other organizations to co-create conditions that strengthen racial consciousness, solidarity, and healing justice.
